As you can imagine, a jaunt across the Sahara in a clapped out banger will require a fair bit of kit. We’d love any donations of the below equipment, so get rummaging in your garages or attics! Any equipment we take will be auctioned off for charity when we reach Mali, along with the car, so don’t give us anything you want back!
Donations of any kind will be recognized by a lovely sticker on our beast of a motor with a design of your choice. Whole panels are available to sponsors – the bigger the donation, the more prominent the logo! Please forward your company sticker to us, the sooner the better. Please use the email link below to contact us for a forwarding address.
Your kind donation will be namedropped in our forthcoming coverage in the Aberdeen Press & Journal, Derby Evening Telegraph, Barnsley Chronicle plus an interview on BBC Radio Derby!
We are also looking to take any old football shirts you might have – kids love these.
If you can donate any of these items, or want to help in any other way,
The phrase book, ratchet straps and jump leads will come in handy!
Are these items ones which will be easily transported in our lugage for return to the UK to return to you?
Don’t want these items back Mr Dusty, only the GPS which I am lost without !
With 2125 hits on the website – if everyone would donate even one pound the charities would benefit. COME ON folks I’m doing a Bob Geldof – GIVE EM SOME MONEY !!!!!!
Gents,
Good luck.
I may have some old climbing rope that could be used as a tow rope with a couple of crabs on the ends. It’s a dynamic rope (has stretch) which may be better.
You’ll also need more bog paper.
I’ll check for the rope tnight.
Cheers
Graham

No its all his own kit (aquired over the 21 years of service!!!) and above board. Bosses have been told of your adventure and rubber stamped it! So no tax payers need worry!!! RMs pay tax as well!!!!!
We have three one litre containers of engine oil (Castrol SLX longlife) which we were given each time the cars were serviced. Also a one litre container of windscreen cleaner.
Any good for you?
Frank and Janet, thank you for the offer, we are awaiting the possible delivery of some oil offered yesterday. However, a little screen wash to remove the squashed bugs could come in handy!
If the oil fails to materialise in time, we’ll pick it up at Christmas.
French phrase book here for you, also ratchet straps and do you want a pair of jump leads?
Thank you Sue,
